Chongqing Foreign Language School, also known as the Affiliated Foreign Language School of Sichuan International Studies University, was designated as one of the first batch of key middle schools in Sichuan Province in 1981. In 1997, it was listed as one of the first batch of key middle schools directly under Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. In 2001, the school was designated by the Ministry of Education as one of the 13 schools in China where 20% of the students in the third year of senior high school are qualified for admission. 1 The school was named "Chongqing Foreign Language School" when it was founded in 1963.
